2014 plant saleIt’s that time again! Join us at our annual Edible Plant Sale, April 22-23 and May 5-7! Once again we’re having TWO sales, one in April for cooler-weather seedlings and another in May for warmer-weather seedlings.

Our certified organic vegetable and herb seedlings are grown by Montalbano Farms and are hand-selected for growing well in Chicago. We’re continuing to offer heirloom favorites and open-pollinated dwarf tomato seedlings, as well as a few disease-resistant cucumber, tomato, and basil seedlings! We’ll also be selling our book, Fearless Food Gardening in Chicagoland, seeds from Seed Savers Exchange, Purple Cow Activated compost and Midwest Trading mushroom compost, Corona tools, seed starting kits, Grewbie kits (everything you need to lay out your square foot gardening grid), Neptune’s Harvest liquid fertilizer, Jobe’s Organics fertilizer, PGP t-shirts and hats, seed potatoes, and Seed Keeper Company 5- and 10- gallon Burlap Girdles (great for growing potatoes!). We’re also adding items for extending the growing season, so you can get a head start in April! In May, we’re adding our annual bake sale for delicious, locally-baked goods.

We’ll have Expert Gardeners on hand during the sale to help you choose your new favorites and answer your fertilizer and compost questions!

BYOB! (Bring Your Own Box) - we ask that you please bring your own bags, boxes or trays for carrying your seedlings home.

We’ll be posting a list of 2017 seedlings and seeds soon! Cash and credit accepted. Seed packets are $3 and seedlings are $4-6.
